Hey y'all! I have a very exciting review today of my most recent purchase, featuring COLOURPOP! Most of you already know about colourpop, which is an affordable online makeup brand that launched a little over a year ago. According to ColourPop, all of their products are made in Los Angeles and are completely cruelty free.
I have purchased from ColourPop before, but had only purchased their Lippi Stix which I adore! This time, I opted for a change and decided to try out their eye shadows as well as their eyebrow pencils, which were launched recently. And I have to say, I am very impressed. so let's get on with the review!
I wanted to try out the formula in several different finishes, so I bought 2 metallics, 1 matte, and 1 pearlized.
From left to right: Cornelius, Drift, Nillionaire, Stereo
Cornelious (matte) - a light brown shade perfect as a transition color
Drift (pearlized) - cranberry shade with some small pink flecks
Nillionaire (metallic) - shimmery deep brown
These shades are absolutely stunning. I bought Nillionaire believing that it would be more of a metallic gold, but I was pleasantly surprised and happy nonetheless with its deep brown shimmer. I like to wear either Drift or Nillionaire over Cornelious which to me is a PERFECT base for all warm toned eye shadows!
The shadows barely crease as well, lasting about 10 hours before any noticeable creasing occurs. They also don't really need a base, which is a huge plus in my book! They are buttery smooth and unlike any formula I have ever tried. I like them better than my Too Faced eye shadows and even my Charlotte Tillbury cream shadows! Another thing! I absolutely ADORE how buildable these shadows are. You can apply them lightly and sheer them out with your fingers or pat them generously onto the lid for a heavier look. I like to use these shades all over the lid most of the time, finding it much easier to apply instead of using various different shadows to create a look.
Another purchase I made from ColourPop were a couple of eye brow pencils! I have had and still have many eyebrow products, ranging from Anastasia's Eyebrow Pencils and Powder to Chosungah 22's eyebrow tint. I interchange between brow products very often, and am very pleased with the ones ColourPop recently launched! At $5 a pop, you can't beat it.
From left to right: Bangin' Brunette, Dope Taupe
I ordered two different colors just to have options available. Depending on the occasion, I like to either darken or lighten my brows a bit. It's like changing your brow shape every now and then to get a soft or bold look. ColourPop offers a bunch of different shades, so everyone should be able to find a color that suits them! The texture is hard, but just soft enough where you can make clean and precise brush strokes. The tip is also very useful for this.
As you can see, the tip is extremely thin. In my opinion, it's as good if not better than the Anastasia Brow Wiz at a quarter of the cost.
Overall, I was SO happy with my purchase from ColourPop and am excited to order from them again. Until then, I hope you all have a great weekend! It's Spring! Let's get excited!
